How Valensia trousers are made: from sketch to finished garment
Have you ever thought about how much work goes into a simple pair of trousers? At Valensia, every garment is not just a product, but the result of a technical and creative process that we personally oversee at every stage. From initial inspiration to final finishing, here's how we transform an idea into a perfect pair of trousers for fit and durability.
Design: inspiration and the first prototype
It all starts with inspiration. We don't just stay in an office; we share our vision directly with the pattern maker. In this phase, the creative idea meets technical execution to bring the first prototype to life. It's a crucial moment for discussion: we analyze the lines, correct the volumes, and ensure that the design meets our comfort standards before proceeding.
Fabric selection and wash tests
Once the model is defined, we move on to selecting the definitive fabric. But we don't just stop at aesthetics. To ensure that your trousers don't change shape after the first wash at home, we perform rigorous wash tests.
Shrinkage study: We analyze how much the fabric shrinks or changes with water.
Measurement precision: Only after calculating the actual shrinkage do we define the definitive measurements for the pattern. This allows us to offer you a consistent and reliable size over time.
Cutting and the precision of 42 pieces
Once shrinkage is defined, we move on to size development and placement. In this phase, we optimize the fabric to avoid waste, combining efficiency and respect for raw materials. The project then moves to the cutting room and subsequently to the manufacturing workshop. This is where the magic happens: 42 distinct pieces are cut and assembled with extreme precision. Every seam is designed to give structure and strength to the trousers, transforming individual cutouts into a high-quality finished garment.
Finishing and quality control
After the sewing phase, the trousers are not yet ready. The garment is washed again (to stabilize the fabric), finished down to the smallest detail, and ironed. Only after thorough quality control is it ready to reach you. It's a long process, requiring time and expertise, but it's the only way we know how to offer you a garment conceived, designed, and created by us... for you.
